Honestly. Now as you can see by the date of the last post that this has just become a wild dream on our part, for various reasons. I find that like the weather you can never really count on things to be the way that they were meant to be. Sometimes it does snow in the The WoodArt Studiohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05630519601604380002noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1958799857604687030.post-68006478242325991732013-12-05T23:12:00.001-05:002013-12-05T23:14:44.938-05:00A few minutes about usOn a brisk chilly morning in November while at the market we had the pleasure to meet Patrick Dunn of "Real Virginia". What an awesome guy he is. Well for some reason he felt that we were pretty cool also and took the time to do an interview with both Steve and myself about The WoodArt Studio and the Harrisonburg Farmers Market. So if you are so inclined to learn a bit more about us and actually The WoodArt Studiohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05630519601604380002noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1958799857604687030.post-30547456865844796082013-11-21T08:50:00.001-05:002013-11-21T08:50:59.022-05:00You are invited toThe WoodArt Studiohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05630519601604380002noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1958799857604687030.post-15239700205314609112013-11-15T10:25:00.001-05:002013-11-15T10:26:47.944-05:00Summer Gone / Fall MissedWOW August 5th? What was I thinking when I said that I would blog once a week and then even later once a month? My saying of Life getting in the way of Life doesn't seem to be an appropriate excuse. I will say that we have been busy but then I know we all are. We are blessed a bit here at The WoodArt Studio to have somewhat of a two member team. We celebrated our anniversary again last week but totally
forgot to really celebrate it with you. Running around being busy is really no
excuse either. So to make up for it we have drastically reduced prices on some
of our inventory. These pieces you can purchase through email correspondence
with us or when we are at the Harrisonburg Farmers Market. Prices listed in the

Yes where did spring go? All that I can remember is
dressing in multiple layers of clothes for the Farmers Market up until a couple
of Saturday's ago. I vowed that I was going to wash my long john's for the very
last time until winter arrived again later this year. So with most days now
pushing into the upper 80's where did spring go? Did it even happen?

Spring brings with it new growth. After the cold
seemingly long winter the breath of fresh air is great to breathe in.
Everything that seemed to look old is new again. Trees start to flower with
their beautiful blossoms of pink and white. Earth in the garden area is ready
to be tilled and plants to be planted. Yes it is all starting again.
As for the studio the pace is just picked up a bit.The WoodArt Studiohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05630519601604380002noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1958799857604687030.post-43399998778347818832013-04-05T13:45:00.002-04:002013-04-05T13:45:42.205-04:00Action Take One

you know that we like to name some of our pieces when we are inspired to do so.
This is one of them. Frankenstein, or Frankie as he is known to the family is
one of those pieces.

Now there's a great quote for February, the time of year
where there is abundant love in the air. Yes there also could sometimes be snow
but let's concentrate on the love aspect of the month. I think that most of us
have at least one person in our lives that we want to let know how much we are
thinking of them. of winter. Working in the studio can be pretty nice this time of year because
the old Vermont Castings stove can sure put out a lot of heat when she wants
to.
Steve has been collecting all sorts of oddly shaped
branches from the back property since we moved here in hopes of one day turning

of the pieces that emerge from the studio. Maybe because during the creation
process an attachment is formed which continues through to the end with the

past we have had Daisy, Betsy, Chief, Black Skull Castle, Windemoor Castle, Elaine's

I'll make this one quick I promise. The holidays are busy
for us all running here there and everywhere in between. So the last thing that
you need to do is read another long blog from me.
We just wanted to let
you know that we will be in the following locations in addition to OASIS Fine

month. Thanksgiving is over; the turkey has been turned into soup. We have so
much to again be thankful for here at the studio along with some sadness. Our

get us our new home and studio down here passed away this year along with one

Are you searching for that special gift for someone
special in your life? Maybe it is your employee who makes that extra effort
each and every day at work. Or how about the young lady who cuts your hair.
Maybe your babysitter or the church minister? Each and every one of these
people have a place in your heart and what better way to thank them for their

caring friends through the short time we have lived here in the Shenandoah
Valley of Virginia. In fact quite a few from our vending days at the
Harrisonburg Farmers Market.
One of them is Elaine and because of this awesome woman
we now have what we call the "Elaine Spoon". You see Elaine is an
awesome cook. I can vouch for that as I have The WoodArt Studiohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05630519601604380002noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1958799857604687030.post-57262697999164129702012-10-19T10:40:00.000-04:002013-05-11T20:06:47.178-04:00These are a Few of my Favorite WoodsDuring the few years that Steve has been turning and
carving wood I have seen some of the prettiest pieces go into and come out of
the studio. You know the end product is oh so beautiful but the start of it can
be just as wonderful.
To see the log roll out of the Jeep and into the studio

fell into the deep Shenandoah Valley, but I am here to report that we didn't.
As so many of you already know and those of you who have guessed it is me,
Debbie, wife who writes these blogs. I had read so much about blogs before I
started this one and the one thing that I clearly noted and had promised to do
to you and to myself was to be The WoodArt Studiohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05630519601604380002noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1958799857604687030.post-91514183736000019452012-08-09T09:09:00.000-04:002012-08-09T09:15:34.711-04:00Introducing me…Good day to you from the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of
Virginia. I thought that since it has been two years that Steve has opened up
The WoodArt Studio that I might as well introduce myself and let you know a bit
about me and my ties with it. They really are nothing big as I am not, I repeat
not an artist at all and I do nothing to create the art, except maybe put the

Living, breathing,
expanding and contracting. Treat it with respect and it will last a lifetime. A
gift to be treasured. A reason for celebration.
When you see the pieces that we display at our different venues or here on our
site you may only see a finished piece for your home. For me (yes it's Debbie)

Where have the two years gone. Four years ago this business was only a dream, a
maybe possibility, a distant future goal. Now look at us with 2 candles on our

When New Years Eve comes around almost everyone is
reflecting on the past year and setting all sorts of goals for the next. So
here we are with over 750 pieces designed, The WoodArt Studiohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05630519601604380002noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1958799857604687030.post-36894157541426488532012-07-20T11:22:00.000-04:002012-07-20T11:22:18.428-04:00Fallen TreesSo why is a fallen tree(s) a good/bad thing? It is real
good if you are a woodturner / woodcarver and can use the wood in one's craft.
It is a not so good thing if you are in those trades and the huge tree that
just missed your house in the fall is Pine. Now question me on what tree(s)
fell on our little acre? Yes you got it Pine, and not one but about five on
quick examination. We can't even The WoodArt Studiohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05630519601604380002noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1958799857604687030.post-90573874277574248782012-06-22T11:18:00.000-04:002012-06-22T11:18:32.534-04:00WoodArt Summer 2012
So I am a day or two late with the onset of summer, but
only with this writing. The garden has been planted such as it is and the grass
is getting mowed. Sybbe, our cat is moving much slower in the heat and the
chips are still flying all over the place in the studio. Steve's studio will
